Rana Plaza

The Rana Plaza is an 8 stages building in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the working place of 5000 people. The building contained textile fabrics but some shops, banks and apartments. On 24 April 2013, the building collapsed at 9 o' clock in the morning. The Collapse did not only killed people inside the building but also people who were outside walking around the building. The cause of this disaster was dedicated to Sohel Rana, the owner of the building.

The work environment was unsafe. Employees complained before the collapse that there were rips in the walls of the building, the managers did not listen. Shops and banks closed their doors but the managers of the textile fabrics forced their employees to come to work. The result was 1.134 people who died in this tragedy and 2500 who got injured.

Thousands of people lost their family or a friend. Firefighters, the police and the army searched for survivors in the debris for more than 2 weeks.

The managers could have prevented this tragedy and the death of so many humans but business and money were more important for them.
