Me, me, me

This is the way people think nowadays. The norms and standards of the beauty and fashion world for boys and girls are high. I feel it too. If I want to achieve something I need to look good. A different outfit for every day and every occasion is a must. The fashion world makes this possible. They have 52 seasons and new clothing lines each year for a decent or cheap price. We consume a lot and nobody, including me, thinks about the business behind it. Children and adults in third world countries work day and night for hardly a dollar a day. To produce a t-shirt that we can buy for 5-10 dollar. This is horrible and has to stop. I like to shop a lot and to be honest, I like buying cheap clothes. I think I buy something new definitely one time in two months. When I saw the documentary The True Cost I was shocked and felt really guilty. Other people die for our clothes that we don’t need. The documentary is a real eye-opener. You can watch him on Netflix. It shows how the fashion industry has so many power that is difficult to go against them and fight for the work employees who work in inhumane circumstances. But still, I am willing to make an effort and change my consuming habits. I hope you too.
